Title IX: Sexual Harassment and Sexual Violence

IUP is committed to a work environment free from any form of sexual harassment and sexual violence. The IUP Sexual Harassment Policy provides definitions, reporting, and complaint resolution procedures.

The university’s Title IX coordinator is Dr. Rhonda Luckey, vice president for Student Affairs: The coordinator’s responsibilities include overseeing the university's process related to all complaints of sexual misconduct and identifying and addressing any patterns or systemic problems that arise during the process of investigation.

There are three Title IX Deputies:

Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972 prohibits discrimination based on sex. Sexual harassment of students, which includes acts of sexual violence, is a form of sex discrimination prohibited by this federal law. When incidents of sexual harassment or sexual violence, including domestic violence, stalking, and dating violence, occur and are reported to campus security authorities, IUP takes immediate and effective steps to end sexual harassment and sexual violence. Retaliation against individuals reporting sexual harassment and/or sexual violence will not be tolerated and will be addressed through the appropriate university process (University Police, Student Conduct, Human Resources). The U.S. Department of Education, OCR oversees Title IX compliance. Questions may be addressed to Office for Civil Rights (OCR).
