What is it about the interior design field that initially drew you in—and ultimately keeps you interested?

There are so many facets of interior design and career paths to take; the possibilities are endless! I started in residential design, ventured into teaching, and now specialize in designing for those with special needs.

Why do you enjoy teaching in this discipline?

When I was an undergraduate student at IUP (for interior design), the professors only talked about residential and commercial office design. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and professional connections in the design field with my students, teaching them about the various niches they can specialize in.

What advice would you give students about how to succeed in college?

Go to class and turn your work in on time. This isn’t high school, and due dates are a real thing!

Tell us something most of your students may not know about you.
