IUP will test its emergency notification system on Thursday, August 26, at 10:00 a.m.

The test will include text messaging, voice calls, and email and desktop alerts. Testing of the public address system will come at a later date.

The email will go to everyone in the @iup.edu email system and will include information on how to sign up for or verify information in IUP’s emergency notification system. This system is reserved for critical safety and security messages, including weather emergencies. Step-by-step instructions on how to update information or register are available on the Emergency Notification System web page. This page also provides information on registering for the free Everbridge app on a mobile device.

Parents, family members, and community members who wish to receive emergency messages are welcome to do so. To keep the system running as efficiently as possible, anyone wishing to be added should text “iupalert” to 888777.
