The Division of Emergency Services Training will offer an educational methodology course starting February 25, 2011.
This is a forty-eight-hour course intended to prepare participants to teach emergency medical technician instructors, emergency medical first responder instructors, and rescue instructors in classroom and field settings.
This course is recognized by the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy as meeting all requirements for an educational methodology course required of individuals before they can be certified as a local level state fire instructor and national fire instructor, level one. Students who successfully complete all course requirements will be eligible for certification by the Pennsylvania Department of Health as an emergency medical technician instructor and by the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy as a local level fire instructor, although agencies have additional requirements before final certification as an instructor.
The course includes the fire instructor level one exam. It is registered with the Pennsylvania Department of Health as an emergency medical technician instructor course and with the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy as an educational methodology course.
The class will be offered February 25 and March 25 at 7:00 p.m. and February 26 and 27 and March 12, 13, 26, and 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Cost is $450, which includes the textbook and all course materials.
The registration deadline is February 15 and must include a $150 nonrefundable deposit.
