The IUP Women in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) student organization invites applications for the first annual Theresa McDevitt Women in STEAM Research Award. This award recognizes an outstanding woman whose research demonstrates excellence, innovation, and impact across the STEAM fields.
Established in honor of Theresa McDevitt, professor emerita of the IUP Libraries, the award reflects a commitment to uplifting women in research and celebrating their contributions. The recipient will be announced during the twenty-first annual Women in STEM Summit and will receive a commemorative plaque and a $150 monetary award. The award application and details are available online.
The deadline to apply is March 6, 2026.
The Women in STEM Summit will take place on the first and second floors of Kopchick Hall from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 6. The event will feature student research posters, award presentations, and a keynote address by Laurie Kuzneski, president of Kuzneski Insurance Group, IUP alumna, and IUP Council of Trustees vice chair.
