Hoping to add a juggling club to the list of about 250 recognized student organizations at IUP, Mandy Pursley, left, and Katie Gunning practiced in the Oak Grove in May. Behind them, from left, are Weyandt, Wilson, Walsh, Keith, and Leonard halls.
Students from the 1970s and beyond may remember the I-Uppers, a musical group that combined vocal and instrumental talent and represented IUP in the community. Started in the late 1960s, the group was under the direction of faculty member Leonard DeFabo in its early years. This photograph was taken circa 1970. If you know the identity of any of these students or have a story about the I-Uppers to share, Harrison Wick, IUP Special Collections librarian and university archivist, would love to hear from you. Contact him by e-mail at hwick@iup.edu. He’s also interested in acquiring IUP memorabilia, photographs, and more. Find out more about IUP Special Collections.

From left: Carol Richards Pritchard, Robert Burelli, Thomas Torquato, and Betty Swanson Roberts. The class contributed more than $15,000 to the Reunion Year Scholarship Fund.
