The Hispanic Journal (HJ) is an academic publication sponsored by the Department of Language, Literature, and Writing at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. As a double-blind, peer-reviewed journal, we maintain a commitment to publishing high-quality research and criticism in the fields of Spanish, Catalan, Galician, Basque, and Luso-Brazilian literature, culture, film, and linguistics.
HJ is published twice a year, providing a platform for scholars and researchers to share their insights and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the aforementioned areas. In addition to research articles, we also accept interviews, translations, creative works, and book and film reviews that fall within the scope of our disciplines. Visit our list of Suggested Books available for review.
All submissions to the Hispanic Journal undergo a rigorous evaluation process. It begins with a recommendation from a member of our esteemed editorial board, followed by evaluation from an advisory board member with expertise in the specific area addressed by the submission. Finally, the editor carefully reviews the work to make the final recommendation. We welcome submissions written in Spanish, English, or Portuguese.
The journal aspires to foster intellectual dialogue within the academic community. HJ welcomes submissions of original and previously unpublished studies exclusively.
