Basics of Open Educational Resources (OER)

Davis 127

My students complain incessantly about the high cost of textbooks. All the videos and images I use have copyrights. What can I do?

Open Educational Resources is defined by the William & Flora Hewlett Foundation as “teaching, learning and research materials in any medium—digital or otherwise—that reside in the public domain or have been released under an open license that permits no-cost access, use, adaptation and redistribution by others with no or limited restrictions.”

Attendees at this workshop will learn the basics of OER, Creative Commons, and where to find creative commons materials.
