Accessibility Assets

IUP provides reasonable accommodations for online classes to allow equal access to meet the needs of enrolled students with disabilities as indicated by Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act, Title II, 1990, and the ADA amendments of 2008. The goal of the university is to provide the education necessary for qualified students with disabilities to function as self-sustaining individuals.

At IUP, we are committed to making learning accessible to all. This section provides guidance and best practices for faculty when designing accessible courses and instructional materials.

IUP offers Read&Write software for both students and employees that make documents, files, and web pages more accessible. Read&Write offers tools that include: text to speech (read out loud), hard-copy text to digital text conversion, voice to text (dictation), and many others. You can review short "how to" videos for Read&Write on YouTube.
