HANDS-ON APPROACH TO HISTORY—Professor R. Scott Moore has for years taken students to Cyprus to get hands-on experience finding and cataloging pieces of history, from tiny ceramic shards to a large, stone olive press a student found while surveying an area along the coast.

History Club

The History Club welcomes anyone on campus who has an interest in history. The group meets monthly to organize fundraisers, trips to local historical sites and movie nights. Members also sponsor guest speakers.

Phi Alpha Theta

This professional society's mission is to promote the study of history. Established in 1921, the group gathers students, teachers, and history authors for intellectual and social exchanges that promote and assist historical research and publication by members.

John F. Kadlubowski Memorial Scholarship

The John K. Kadlubowski Memorial Scholarship is an award of a minimum of $500 given annually to an undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, or graduate student who plans to pursue a career in teaching at the high school or college level. Applicants must be declared majors in the Department of History at IUP.

Erik Slebodnik Memorial Scholarship

The Erik Slebodnik Memorial Scholarship is an award of a minimum of $500 given annually to an undergraduate History major.
