Welcome to the College of Health and Human Services at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. You will find the College provides diverse educational opportunities leading to excellence in health and human services for a global community.
The focus of CHHS is to provide the highest possible quality of education that prepares our students to become leaders in their field. One of our strengths is the breadth and depth of the diverse disciplines within the college. The college now consists of eight departments that represent an array of disciplines, offering degrees at the associate, baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral levels.
In addition, the college collaborates with several IUP departments to offer a Public Health baccalaureate of science degree and an Administrative and Leadership Studies PhD program.
The college also oversees the Center for Sport Science Research and Education, the Center for Research in Criminology, the Criminal Justice Training Center, the Institute for Rural Health and Safety, the Child Study Center, the Center for Applied Psychology, the Administration and Leadership Studies Research and Training Center, and the Mid-Atlantic Addiction Research and Training Institute for Community and Behavioral Health.
The disciplines in CHHS prepare students for their professions by engaging them in activities within the community that applies the theories and concepts discussed in the classroom for a more comprehensive understanding of the discipline, while providing a valuable service to the communities in which we reside. Students complete clinical experiences, field work, and internships through one of many affiliation agreements at a myriad of health and human services facilities, agencies, and organizations. CHHS is dedicated to improving the quality of life in the community through education, service, research, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
