Immerse Yourself in Chinese Culture

Nearly 875 million people speak some form of Chinese—that's about one fifth of the world's population. China's civilization is over 5,000 years old, and the traditions, art, and values are quite different than those of Western societies.

If you are an Asian studies major or minor, you will need to demonstrate proficiency in an Asian language. Why not choose Chinese? If you have an interest in international business, learn the language of one of America's largest trading partners. Take full advantage of beginning, intermediate, and advanced Chinese courses offered at IUP.

Add a Certificate in Chinese to Your Resume

In addition to offering Chinese language classes, you can earn a certificate in Chinese, which gives you an internationally recognized credential in a foreign language.

The certificate is focused explicitly on speaking and writing.
