Each year the English Department invites undergraduate IUP students who are majoring or minoring in English to enter their writing in the English Department Undergraduate Writing Contest. Submissions may belong to any of seven categories:
- Creative Nonfiction
- Short Fiction Poetry
- Critical Essay
- Pedagogical Writing
- Plays and Screenwriting
- Workplace Writing (non-pedagogical)
- Innovative writing (hypertextual narratives, literary games, etc.)
Winners in each category receive a prize, a certificate of achievement, and recognition in the Awards section of the English Department website.
Students who wish to participate in the English Department Undergraduate Writing Contest should upload their submissions through the contest entry form.
