Catherine Dugan (Department for Disability Access and Advising, D2A2) moderated and presented at a panel discussion on “The Student Experience: Disability and the Classroom” at the annual IUP EGO (English Graduate Organization) conference in April 2022.

Graduate and undergraduate student panelists reflected on their lived experience and journey as a person with a disability, the effect on their learning, positive classroom experiences, and how educators can help provide positive experiences. Panelists addressed audience questions about how they would recommend the educational experience evolve.

Panelists were April Flowers (graduate, biology); Elijah Vanier (undergraduate, secondary social studies education–history, SGA Disability Concerns representative); Dmitri Woods (undergraduate, secondary social studies education–history); and Erick Marco G. Ramos (graduate, literature and criticism).
