Joy Parham-Thomas is co-owner of Urban Country Culinary Concepts, a catering company located in Philadelphia.

After completion of her culinary coursework at IUP Academy of Culinary Arts, Parham-Thomas accepted an externship position in Florida at the Marco Island Marriot Resort and Spa working under Executive Chef Mark Quitney.

Upon completion of her externship and graduation from the Academy of Culinary Arts, Parham-Thomas returned to Philadelphia, where she worked with the James Beard Award-winning chef Guillermo Tellez at the Brle Catering Company, owned by famed Philadelphia chef Jean-Marie Lacroix. In addition, Parham-Thomas worked for the Kevin Parker Company and has helped out small restaurants in Philadelphia while serving as an independent consultant.

Parham-Thomas went to Los Angeles to work with Michelin Star chef Gordon Ramsay as a chef contestant on the Fox hit series Hell's Kitchen. Her performance on the show earned her the December 2014 spot for one of her recipes in the first Hell's Kitchen calendar.

Urban Country Culinary Concepts has been in operation since March 2013. Parham-Thomas and the culinary team offer preset and custom menus that showcase a unique fusion style of cooking, blending different cultural backgrounds together.
