An IUP alumna provided the school with a monetary gift that will fund scholarships in her brother and fathers' names. Dolores Spinelli Gigliotti and her husband, Vincent, gifted the school with $2.4 million. Gigliotti graduated from IUP in 1970 with a degree in elementary education.
The money donated will go toward the Gregory Spinelli Memorial Fund and the George L. Spinelli Memorial Scholarship, and will also help to establish the George L. Spinelli Enhancement Fund.
The enhancement fund will support the Department of Counseling, which was founded by George Spinelli, Gigliotti's father.
