Both the morning and afternoon ceremonies featured an IUP graduate with more than five decades of leadership in higher education administration. Dr. Donald J. Mash, a 1964 graduate, provided the keynote address and received an honorary doctorate of humane letters degree.
Franklinn M. Alexander, of Ernest, Pa., who received a master's degree in sports studies with an emphasis in exercise science, provided the student reflection for the morning ceremony.
Ashley Niccolai, of Fairmount City, who received a bachelor's degree in sociology, provided the student reflection for the afternoon ceremony.
Seventeen cadets took the oath of office and became 2nd lieutenants in the United States Army. This moment is always the highlight of every Commencement ceremony.
