Professionals looking to strengthen their workplace effectiveness and advance their careers have a new opportunity to develop the skills employers value most. The Workplace Essentials Certificate program, a new noncredit training initiative, launched its first cohort in May 2026.
Designed for individuals working in any industry, the program focuses on the foundational professional skills that contribute to workplace success. Participants will gain practical strategies to improve communication, leadership, teamwork, time management, adaptability, and emotional intelligence while building the confidence needed to excel in today’s dynamic work environment.
The Workplace Essentials Certificate consists of eight training modules delivered over four weeks, totaling 20 hours of instruction. Participants will complete two 2.5-hour modules each week, providing a focused and flexible learning experience that can be immediately applied in the workplace.
Topics covered throughout the program include:
- Communication
- Leadership
- Teamwork
- Body language and nonverbal communication
- Time management
- Adaptability and problem solving
- Conflict management
- Emotional intelligence
