On Saturday, November 30, 2019, the IUP Eberly College of Business and Information Technology held the dedication of the Mackey Family Charitable Trust Financial Trading Room. Participants included family members, friends, business partners, and IUP representatives.

Ed Mackey speaks at the dedication of the Mackey Family Charitable Trust Financial Trading RoomThe financial trading room provides students with up-to-the-minute news and financial information. The room has Bloomberg access, an industry-grade, comprehensive date-monitoring and analytical tool that provides real-time movements in global markets.

Robert Camp (dean of the Eberly College), Dan Lawson (faculty member and advisor for the Student Managed Investment Portfolio team), and alumnus Robert Schwartz '18 (former SMIP CIO and analyst for the PNC Financial Services Group) all discussed the importance of the financial trading room for student learning and preparation for the financial industry.

President Michael Driscoll made remarks of appreciation for the Mackey's friendship and support of the university. Ed Mackey addressed the group noting how he and Cecelia had visited campus recently and were particularly impressed by the presentation made by a group of finance students.

At the dedication of the Mackey Family Charitable Trust Financial Trading RoomCecilia and Ed Mackey have both served on the Foundation for IUP Board of Directors. They've created the Mackey Family Endowed Scholarship and supported the IUP Business Athletic Scholarship program. In addition, they supported the renovation of the Breezedale Alumni Center in the 1980s.

Family members Cecelia and Ed Mackey, Loren Mackey Alico '91, M'93, Cecelia and Ed Mackey, Lisa Mackey Thomas '88, and Ed Mackey Jr. collectively oversee the Mackey Family Charitable Trust.
