The Allenwood is now open for lunch and dinner every fall and spring semester.
Our students have the unique opportunity to manage the Allenwood. These students are enrolled in the two laboratory courses—HOSP 330 - Applications of Food Production and Service and HOSP 413 - Restaurant Food Production and Service—and they manage the Allenwood every semester. These courses provide hands-on learning in:
Our students also apply and develop managerial functions of planning, organizing, influencing, and controlling an operation.
The Allenwood is operated through two courses as part of the Hospitality Management curriculum. Hours of operation are limited based upon course scheduling and will change every semester. All lunches and dinners are open to the public.
During spring 2020, the Allenwood will be available for public dining February 20–May 1: Tuesdays through Fridays for lunch and Thursdays for dinner. Please plan to join us each week for delicious menus.
Reservations are not required, but are encouraged. Seating is limited, and guests are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Please visit the Lunch Reservation page to

The Allenwood is located on the ground floor of Ackerman Hall (the corner of Grant and Pratt Streets):

Pay-by-space parking is available during the Allenwood lunch buffets. These spaces are located on Pratt Drive and in the Keith and HUB parking lots located off of Garman Avenue and South 8th Street near the HUB.
IUP is currently undergoing a major construction project outside of Ackerman Hall. In order to park in the available pay-by-spaces on Pratt Drive, you will need to follow West Maple Street (off of Wayne Avenue) to Pratt Drive to access available pay-by-space
parking. Grant Street is no longer accessible to these spaces.
Other parking lots available near Ackerman Hall are the Keith and HUB lots located off Garman Avenue and South 8th Street near the HUB. These lots are free to park after 5:00 p.m. except reserved and handicapped.
At the Allenwood, we strive to meet all our patrons’ dietary needs. However, the Allenwood is a student lab class and not a full-service restaurant. Therefore, we are unable to fully address every dietary restriction.
If you or members of your party have any known food allergies, please list the number of each type of meal needed when making a reservation.
Our current policy for lactose-free and gluten-free is for each individual patron to choose which food items they can tolerate at their own discretion prior to visiting the Allenwood.
