Department of Disability Access and Advising

  • The mission of the Department of Disability Access and Advising is to provide both service and access to the greater university for the students whom it serves. In doing so, it supports the advising services and equal access mission of Indiana University of Pennsylvania. The faculty and staff of the center are guided by the philosophy of developmental advising as they provide students with advising assistance that both answers questions and encourages the development of personal resources for decision making.

    Department faculty and staff members maintain close working relationships with other Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, and administrative offices at IUP. The department offers an array of services designed to promote and strengthen the interaction of faculty and students. Following is a list of some of the services provided by the Department of Disability Access and Advising.

  • Disability Support
    Disability Support Services assists students with disabilities of all kinds, including learning, physical, hearing, vision, or psychological.
    Students are considered primarily responsible for managing their progress towards graduation. Academic advisement is a vital support in this process.
