College Working With International Leaders in Education Program

The College of Education and Educational Technology is working with the group known as the International Leaders in Education Program. International educators from across the globe take part in classes and learn from American-style teaching and pedagogies to enrich their own.

Professor Willis Awarded for Service on Pennsylvania Phi Beta Lambda Board

Adult and Community Education Department Professor LucindaWillis received an award for her 15 years of distinguished service on the Pennsylvania Phi Beta Lambda advisory board. Professor Willis is in charge of businesseducation programs for the department.

Introducing Instructional Design and Technology Program

Revisions to the Adult Education and CommunicationsTechnology track in the Department of Adult and Community Education have been approved by University Senate. The revised track, Instructional Design and Technology,will be offered at the Monroeville Center beginning in fall 2017.

Adult and Community Education Professor Assists with NOCTI Testing

During April 2016, Lucinda Willis helped to implement National Occupational Competency Testing Institute (NOCTI) assessments at the high school level. Willis participated as a testing coordinator for the evaluations.

Willis Judges State Leadership Conference

Business Education professor Lucinda Willis attended the three-day State Leadership Conference in Harrisburg, Pa. as the state adviser from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Willis is responsible for testing coordination and awards appropriation for the conference.

Local Education Agency Holds Open House

OnMay 11, 2016, the ARIN Center for Education held an English as a SecondLanguage open house. The Centerfor Education offers free ESL classes to non-native English speakers and worksclosely with the Adult and Community Education Department.

Graduate Student Assembly

Margaret Mahler Award

Dr. Margaret Mahler was a founder and highly regarded professor of Adult and Community Education at IUP.  The Margaret Mahler Foundation was established in her honor to support graduate students and recognize outstanding achievements of ACE graduate students.
