Amar Mmoud, a graduate student in the Curriculum and Instruction DEd program (Professional Studies in Education, College of Education and Human Services), was presented the 2025–26 Liberal Studies/Crimson Core Teaching Excellence Award for effective classroom instruction of UNIV 101 – First Learning Year (Student Affairs, Student Success, and Disability Access, University College), the foundational course of IUP’s new Crimson Core general education curriculum.
Presenting the award was Director of Liberal Studies/Crimson Core and First Learning Year Dawn Smith-Sherwood, who lauded Mmoud, not only for his effective instruction but also for his collaboration, creativity, and reliability as a colleague.
