The President's Commission on Diversity and Inclusion is pleased to host guest speaker Justin Brown as he presents a virtual workshop on “Creating Inclusive Spaces” to IUP faculty and programming staff. The workshop will be held on Friday, October 23, 2020, from 8:00 a.m. to noon.
Brown is an IUP alumnus and a current Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education employee at West Chester University, and he has a unique perspective on what life is like as an IUP student. He is a dynamic presenter and is well-versed in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) trainings.
This workshop will provide faculty and staff an opportunity to engage in conversations regarding DEI in the classroom and at campus events. This will include classroom dynamics, course/event content, and curriculum.
Brown states, “We can no longer be the change we want to see—we have to teach the change we want to see.”
Brown presented a DEI training to student leaders on September 30, 2020, and will offer a similar training to all students on October 14.
