IUP Academy of Culinary Arts students were treated to hot cider, hot chocolate, and delicious pastries on Friday, October 22, from the window of a 1975 Vintage Horse trailer named Magnolia.

2019 Culinary Arts alumna Kala Vargo is the co-owner of the vintage mobile bar, affectionately called Magnolia. Kala had always dreamed of owning a food truck, and her dream became a reality with Clink ’92, the vintage mobile bar she co-owns with her cousin, Garrett Horrell, and his wife, Cassie. Their vintage trailer can be rented for weddings and other private events, but can also be found at local farmer’s markets, street fairs, and other outdoor events.

As part of the culinary curriculum, culinary and baking students learn about wine and beverage appreciation. Kala came to campus as a guest speaker to share with current students about the mobile bar business during their morning lecture class.

As you can see, the hot beverages hit the spot on a cool, rainy Friday in October!
