The Psychology Department invites you to the 2022 Psychology Day. Since 2016 spring semester, the last Friday of classes is our collective expression of enthusiasm for psychological science, featuring invited speakers along with psychology students and their mentors presenting their scholarship activities.

This year we will meet via Zoom on April 29 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:20 p.m. Katie Stanko (IUP BA’14) will start the day with an alumni address and share her reflections on graduate school and early professional career experiences.

The International Scholar Keynote Address will be delivered by Katarzyna Hamer-den Heyer (Institute of Psychology, Polish Academy of Sciences), who will present research on people’s sense of identification with all humanity, a topic which is swiftly gaining prominence in many areas of social sciences.

We will be joined by colleagues from the departments of Counseling, Criminology and Criminal Justice, and Sociology for a panel presentation on graduate degree opportunities at IUP. IUP’s Haven Project will conduct a workshop about bystander intervention.
