Saturday, October 25, is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. Sponsored by the US Drug Enforcement Administration, the event is aimed at reminding citizens across the nation and the Commonwealth that safe disposal of unused prescription drugs is one of the best ways to fight drug abuse.

In addition to prescription medications, DEA regulations allow for the disposal of over-the-counter medications, prescription patches and ointments, vitamins, and pet medicines. Please note, each take-back location has the right to determine what items it will accept.

The lobby of the IUP Police Department, at 650 South 13th Street, Indiana, PA, has a drug drop box.
