IUP Honor Fraternity Sponsoring Autism Awareness Week Events

Phi Sigma Pi national co-ed honor fraternity has organized six different events for its first Autism Awareness Week, planned for March 30 through April 4, 2015. All of the events are designed to raise awareness about autism. Donations also will be welcomed at events throughout the week to benefit the international autism awareness project, “Light It Up Blue.”

IUP to Honor Nell Jack with President’s Medal of Distinction

IUP President Michael Driscoll will present the award to Jack at the annual Leader’s Circle of Indiana County awards event on April 22. The President’s Medal of Distinction, the highest non-degree award the university presents, honors citizens of the state and region whose professional achievement or public service is of national significance or special significance to the university.

IUP Trustee Honored with “Nation’s Top Attorneys” Recognition

Indiana attorney Jonathan Mack, a member and vice chair of the IUP Council of Trustees and executive committee member of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education Board of Governors, received this honor from the National Association of Distinguished Counsel.

IUP Provost Names Randy Martin Dean of IUP Graduate Studies and Research

Timothy Moerland, Indiana University of Pennsylvania provost, has named Randy Martin as the dean of IUP’s School of Graduate Studies and Research. Martin will begin this role March 9, 2015.

IUP Criminology Program Ranked in Top 10 for Best Online Graduate Criminal Justice Programs by U.S. News and World Report

The selection is based on factors that include admissions selectivity, faculty credentials, and academic and career support services offered to students.

Semester in Harrisburg Provides IUP Students State Government Experience

Tiffany Fox, a criminology/pre-law major from Irwin and Julia McBride, a political science major from McKeesport are two of 13 students participating in the THIS program, which provides students the opportunity to work in all areas of state government while earning a full semester’s worth of credits.
