The Office of Annual Giving will conduct “Crimson Bag” lunches in IUP’s Pittsburgh office at noon Tuesday, June 15, 2010.

Attendees will receive complimentary lunch and an IUP reusable lunch tote. The purpose of the lunch will be to update Pittsburgh-area alumni about IUP’s tremendous campus renaissance, the numerous prestigious accolades IUP has received as one of the top-tier universities in the nation, the progress of the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex, and information on new academic programs.

The focus of the June lunch will be Journalism and Communications Media alumni. However, alumni of all majors are welcome.

Journalism Department chair Randy Jesick will provide an update, and representatives from Alumni Relations and the Career Development Center will also be on hand.

This is part of the Pittsburgh Initiative to connect with IUP alumni in this region, with an emphasis on networking, admissions recruitment efforts, media relations, internships, and placement opportunities.

The office will also serve as a hub for the more than six thousand alumni who work in the downtown area and the 29,000 who currently reside in Allegheny County.

Future events will feature topics of interest to alumni as well as guest speakers and panel discussions. For more information regarding the Crimson Bag lunches, please contact Sheila Rawlings in the Office of Annual Giving at 724-357-5555.

The Pittsburgh office is at 20 Stanwix Street, Suite 501, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
