The Mindfulness Meditation Group will begin weekly meetings on April 1, 2010, at the Counseling Center.
During this group, members will learn basic mindfulness skills to increase level of awareness through the five basic senses and become more attuned to one’s body and emotions.
A university is not where you normally hear about ways to take time for yourself, renew yourself, or take a step back. In fact, our society in general has not placed much priority on building quiet time for contemplation, reflection, and paying attention inside. But there has been increasingly more research and scientific evidence that this may be the best way for you and your brain to cope with stress, experience more positive emotions, and feel a sense of well being.
