Uniworld Assists with IUP Alumni Careers

In an effort to reach out to alumni, the IUP Career Development Center (CDC) will periodically share information that may be useful to alumni relative to their employment and careers. The information shared here is about a new program, Uniworld, which is the newest addition to the CDC’s on-line job search resources.

This comprehensive program contains two separate databases:

  • The Directory of U.S. Firms Operating in Foreign Countries: contains information on American firms that have substantial interests overseas. It is searchable by country, region, industry, keyword, and more.
  • The Directory of Foreign Firms Operating in the U.S.: offers information on companies from outside the U.S. that have operations here. It is also searchable using the parameters above.

The databases do not contain job listings; they do, however, allow job seekers to identify and target companies in particular fields. These resources are useful for U.S. job seekers who are interested in overseas employment and for international students seeking practical training in the U.S. or employment in their home countries.

Both databases are available to current students as well as alumni through the CDC website from any on-campus computer and through URSA from off-campus. Alumni can obtain a Banner ID and password for URSA by submitting an Unofficial Transcript Request through Alumni Services. (Please note: The on-line form you will use is titled “Request for Unofficial Transcript.” This is the correct form.).
