Visiting guest choreographer Rebecca Inman joins the student and faculty troupe for the performances. She is a member of the Inlet Dance Theatre in Cleveland, Ohio.
Directed by Holly Boda-Sutton, this popular production offers a collection of original works ranging from poignant to entertainingly playful that appeal to all ages, filled with a wide range of energy and expression.
The performance opens with a serious look at the prison chain gangs of the 1940s. This piece is sharply contrasted by a more playful worked titled “La Fiesta de Loca” (“The Crazy Party”).
Inman choreographed two works to be performance, including “Grandma’s Hands,” which highlights the love and guidance that comes from family members.
The IUP Dance Theater is performing several works within the concert which are dedicated in memory of Erin A. (Potthast) Burkett, a former member of the IUP Dance Theater.
