Eberly Hosts Indiana County Area Society for Human Resource Management

The Indiana County Area Society for Human Resource Management (ICASHRM) held its February meeting at the Eberly College of Business and Information Technology on February 19, 2010. The meeting was attended by twenty-five ICASHRM members.

Over the past seven years, the Eberly College has hosted one of these meetings each year. The purpose of the meeting is for regional human resource managers to interact with Eberly faculty members and discuss current issues impacting the field of human resources.

The topics of the February meeting pertained to:

  1. Review of recent success of Eberly students in the MANage International Competition held in Bangalore, India, in which IUP finished in second place overall in a competition of more than fifty international schools of business
  2. Discussion of Business Day, scheduled for Tuesday, April 6, in which all ICASHRM members are invited to attend and interact with Eberly students
  3. HR Training and Development: Utilizing New Technologies, in which computer hardware and software packages were demonstrated. ICASHRM participants had an opportunity to discuss how the application of new technologies can provide them with the capability to develop state-of-the-art training programs for their organizations.

The meeting was facilitated by Dr. Krish Krishnan, Dr. P. Michael Kosicek, Dr. Robert Boldin, Dr. Prashanth Bharadwaj, and Dr. Fred Slack.

ICASHRM participants commented favorably that the meeting was very productive, providing them with hands-on appreciation for training delivery potential within their organizations.
