Wood ChairThe exhibition, presented by the Department of Art, showcases some of the most important names in contemporary furniture design and wood sculpture throughout North America. The exhibition was curated by IUP art alumnus Michael Stadler and was originally shown at the Dairy Barn Art Center in Athens, Ohio. There will also be several pieces from this show exhibited both on the Grand Balcony and directly in front of the IUP Performing Arts Center.

When asked about curating the exhibit, Stadler said, “The selection of these artists is based on their involvement with the contemporary wood art movement. Many of the participants are renowned furniture makers, educators, and demonstrators.”

All of the artists represent the freshest approach and farthest stretch of imaginative ideas in the fields of woodworking and contemporary sculpture.”
