The IUP Department of Music and The Lively Arts at IUP, as part of its Sound Choices series, will present the annual Holiday Music Festival on Sunday, December 13, 2009. The concert will begin at 3:00 p.m. in Gorell Recital Hall, located on the second floor of Sutton Hall.
The one hundred voices comprising the IUP Chorus, Chamber Singers, and Chorale will be joined by the HoodleBug Brass and by baritone Joseph Baunoch. The choral ensembles are under the direction of James Dearing.
The festive concert of new and traditional music of the season includes a wide variety of sacred and secular songs from Australia, Mexico, Italy, France, Germany, Quebec, and England. The program will also offer music celebrating Hannukah and a sing-along for audience members.
Tickets are available in advance at the Hadley Union Building or at IUPtickets.com. Tickets are $9 regular admission, $8 discount (senior citizens and groups of fifteen or more), and $6 with a university I-Card. Tickets will also be sold at the door starting forty-five minutes before the performance.
