IUP's Chamber Singers will offer a concert of seventeenth- and eighteenth-century masterworks this Sunday afternoon, October 18, 2009, at 3:00 in Gorell Recital Hall. This performance is free and open to the public. Highlights of this sacred music program will be double chorus music from Italy, Germany, and England.
Department of Music Professor James Dearing will conduct the twenty-seven singers and fourteen instrumentalists, who will be joined by new faculty bass-baritone Joseph Baunoch, in a “Magnificat” by Claudio Monteverdi, one of the composers last works written in 1640 for Saint Mark’s in Venice.
