The second annual Supplier Diversity Fair will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2009, in the HUB’s Ohio Room.
Although this event will be sponsored and hosted by IUP’s Office of Social Equity and Civic Engagement and Office of Procurement Services, it has the full support and endorsement of Dana Henry, executive director of the Indiana Regional Chamber of Commerce.
The Supplier Diversity Fair is a community support initiative intended to develop more and better opportunities for women and minority suppliers to gain access to procurement opportunities at IUP. The program is also intended to increase business-to-business opportunities among IUP suppliers. At IUP, we know the benefit that comes from working with locally-owned businesses in the greater Indiana community and in the Commonwealth. Our second annual Supplier Diversity Fair will provide the opportunity for vendors to display their products and services and a chance to meet with IUP faculty and staff members who requisition the purchase of products and services for the university.
Elizabeth Bowers, regional director of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Department of General Services, and Robert L. Bowser, Jr., director of IUP’s Procurement Services, will provide a comprehensive overview of how companies can do more business with the university and the Commonwealth.
