Winter Sports Season Looks Promising

IUP's winter sports teams have gotten off to a running start. As of December 12...

The women's basketball team has a record of 6-1 with the only loss coming in overtime to the number two ranked team in the country.  Jahzinga Tracey leads IUP with a scoring average of 19 points per game and has earned PSAC Player of the Week honors. Men's basketball is off to a 4-2 start as they look to better their record of 13-15 of a year ago.  Included in this record was a loss at the University of Pittsburgh, where IUP finished the game strong by outscoring Pitt in the second half 43-41.  Darryl Webb, last year’s PSAC rookie-of-the-year, leads a balanced scoring attack. Learn more about the team's progress.

In the pool, Melissa Kuzarczuk and Jen Price earned NCAA “B cuts” at the Akron Invitational.  The IUP swimming team took the team title at the Crimson Hawk Invitational and has a record of 3-3. Record-breaking swimmer, Pawel Glowiak, began the season where he left off last year by being named the PSAC Swimmer of the Week for his performance at the Crimson Hawk Invitational.  In addition to breaking three records, he earned NCAA cuts in all three events.  IUP took the team title at the Crimson Hawk Invitational and has a record of 3-3. See more
