IUP Celebrates International Education WeekJoin the Office of International Education as they celebrate International Education Week at IUP from October 12 through October 21, 2020. Learn about education abroad opportunities, listen to international music and poetry, watch an international film, and more. All events are virtual and open to the community, unless otherwise noted.

IEW is a joint initiative between the United States Department of State and the United States Department of Education to promote crosscultural awareness, prepare students for a global environment, and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the United States.

  • International Radio Hour: 8:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m., Do you like music? Are you interested in what music is popular in other countries? Now is your chance to expand your musical interests and knowledge. We will play music from more than 30 countries over zoom for you to listen to while you do homework, cook dinner, or just chill.   • International Poetry Night, 7:00 p.m. Poetry offers a unique look into different cultures and is a great way to share your culture and interests with the campus community! As participants read poetry, the poems will be shared in the original language and in English, so the audience can better understand the poem. Join via Zoom.

  • Dinner and an International Film (Freaks–You’re One of Us), 8:00 p.m. Register for this event. Pick up an international-themed to-go dinner from North Dining and join us for Freaks–You’re One of Us, a 2020 German film about people discovering they have superpowers and are being treated for mental illnesses. Students must have a Netflix account to watch or sign up for free 30-day free account. More details provided after students register for the event.
