The Keystone Quartet was  a featured ensemble at the 17th Annual International Euphonium and Tuba Festival, held June 14–20, 2020. Keystone Quartet is made up of four IUP Department of Music alumni: George Alberti (BFA’11), Mike Waddell (BSEd’12), Zack Grass (BFA’14), and Logan Carnes (BSEd/BFA’19).

The quartet formed in 2019 and aims to highlight music that has been created by IUP-based composers.

Their Thursday evening festival performance, seen in the video above (begins at 24:45 mark), featured compositions by Anthony O’Toole (BA’11, Blowfest II) and Zach Collins (White Keys). Mike Waddell was also featured as a soloist. He performed Zach Collins’ Cascades for euphonium octet at the Friday evening concert (begins at 0:17 mark).

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival was held virtually and concerts were broadcast via YouTube.
