This year’s recipient of the 2020 Kappa Delta Pi Dean’s Leadership Award is McKenzie
Rihn, a senior early childhood/special education major. This award is given to a KDP member for outstanding leadership in the field of teacher education. McKenzie serves as the KDP chapter co-president.
McKenzie remarked, “I am so honored to be selected for this award. As I didn’t want KDP to end the way it did, I have worked alongside with such amazing educators and made great memories that I will never forget. To all of the future educators, continue
to be a leader and work hard for what you want.”
The KDP Dean’s Chapter Service Award, given to a student for outstanding service in the field of teacher education, was given to two students this year. They were Jillian Black and Brooke Darno. Jillian, a sophomore, and Brooke, a junior,
are early childhood/special education majors and serve as the KDP fundraising co-chairs.

Brooke stated, “I am so thankful and honored to receive the KDP Dean’s Chapter Service Award. It feels great to be a part of something with such amazing opportunities for a future in teacher education. Thank you again, and I am excited for all that KDP
will continue to offer next year in service and leadership!”
