Thomas Segar, IUP vice president for Student Affairs,
presented* at the 2020 NASPA AVP Symposium held January 25–27.
The NASPA AVP Symposium is a conference designed to support and develop AVPs and others in their unique campus leadership roles.
Segar’s presentation, “Next Stop—The Vice Presidency: How to Successfully Engage with Executive Search Firms,” provided attendees with guidance on a variety of areas related to executive searches. Specifically, Segar and his co-presenters discussed how
to approach processes from a variety of angles, from interest to application to interviews, demystifying the operation as a whole, as well as providing tips for applicants.
*The presentation was developed and delivered in collaboration with fellow student affairs professionals Jen Meyers Pickard (consultant, Wittkieffer) and Jose-Luis Reira (vice president for Student Life at the University of Delaware).
