“The total raised in the auction was not available overnight, but The Salvation Army knew where $4,249 was coming from, after an annual two-week effort by students at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. “These are representatives from each component of fraternity and sorority life, and all these folks are council officers,” IUP President Dr. Michael A. Driscoll said as he introduced Matt Van Etten, a finance and economics major from Shillington; Lexie Pollock, a political science major from Gibsonia; Na’eem Allen-Stills, an exercise science major from Philadelphia; and Dara Thomas, a criminology major from Canonsburg. Also on stage was Betsy Sarneso, assistant director of fraternity and sorority life and student engagement at IUP. It was the 14th year for the fundraising effort by IUP’s Greek community, which through the years has brought in $40,726.”
