Waltman Wins Best Short Film and Best Actor

The Empty House PosterIUP Communications Media faculty member Jeremy Waltman’s film The Empty House won Best Short Film and Best Actor for Joseph Culp at an Orlando Film Festival. The film was written, directed, and produced by Jeremy Waltman and Adam Lucas, and was shot by Bart Cortright, a Brooklyn-based cinematographer.

Culp played Don Draper’s father on Mad Men and was featured in the documentary Doomed for being the first actor to play Marvel’s Dr. Doom.

The Empty House story takes place in the fictional town of Blairsville, where the empty house sits. Julie has just arrived for a big-money job before her baby is born, but not all is right with the couple who called her there.

The Empty House used an Indiana Borough home as a key location.
