Dr. Tricia Shelton, professor in the Department of Professional Studies in Education,
has recently received two major awards.
Shelton's first award was the "Class of
2019 Women of Excellence Award" which was presented by the Pittsburgh Courier.
Her second award was the "PEAL Art of Inclusion Award" from the Parent Education & Advocacy Leadership Center was titled the in the category of Education. Shelton received the award for her efforts as an administrator, teacher or other school personnel
who actively promotes inclusive education for all.
The Department of Professional Education is proud to continue the tradition of graduating prepared and successful educational professionals in a multitude of occupations, grade levels, and content areas. These occupations include early childhood
teachers, elementary teachers, middle-level teachers, elementary, middle, and high school principals, reading specialists, curriculum coordinators, and superintendents.
