The ability to lead one’s peers is a top skill that employers industry-wide seek in candidates.  But just how do you go about being a respected leader?

Join the IUP Career and Professional Development Center on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in the Elkin Hall Great Room for their upcoming program, “Where You Lead, I Will Follow: Leadership 101,” presented by Tammy Manko, director of the CPDC.  This event is part of the CPDC’s Career Ready Seminar Series, which aims to provide targeted events to help IUP students gain and understand the necessary skills and competencies to be successful in life after graduation.

Students who attend will learn not only what leadership truly means but also what it takes to be an effective leader and the impact it can have on one’s career success. Tammy Manko is excited to be able to talk to students about this relevant and important topic. “We know from our experience with employers that they seek eight primary skill sets and among those is leadership,” Manko said. “As such, we encourage our students to identify ways to build on existing and develop additional leadership skills during their time at IUP and thereafter.”
