What’s your personal brand? Do you need a personal brand? As the workforce continues to become more and more competitive, it is imperative that students understand how to stand out and separate themselves in their field.
Join the IUP Career and
Professional Development Center (CPDC) on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in the Elkin Hall Great Room for their upcoming program, “It’s Personal: Understanding the Impact of Personal Branding,” presented by Sarah Hillegas,
owner of local marketing agency Planful. Following the event, there will be a networking reception with employees from Enterprise
Holdings, the employer sponsor for this program.
“We are excited to sponsor and partake in the Career Ready Seminar Series,” Jill Thomas, talent acquisition manager for Enterprise, said. “This is a great opportunity for students to learn how to prepare for their post-graduate careers. IUP has always
been a top university to recruit at, because events like this make the transition from campus to career seamless. IUP alumni are always top performers and successful in our company.”
This event is part of the CPDC’s Career Ready
Seminar Series, which aims to provide targeted events to help IUP students gain and understand the necessary skills and competencies to be successful in life after graduation.
Students who attend will not only learn what having a personal brand entails, but they’ll also learn ways they can start to build that brand while they are in school to help them in their professional career. Hillegas, the evening’s presenter, is excited
to be on campus to talk to students about this relevant topic.
“Personal branding is crucial in today’s digital world,” said Hillegas. “It's especially important for people who are joining the workforce for the first time, those looking to change careers, and business owners. I’m really looking forward to helping
IUP students develop personal brands that will help them succeed when they graduate.”
