2019-20 Mandatory Title IX and Protection of Minors Training

IUP is committed to maintaining a community free from sexual discrimination and misconduct, and promoting the safety and security of minors who visit campus or participate in our programs. In compliance with federal and state laws and the State System’s Board of Governors, all university and university-related personnel must complete annual training on the university’s Sexual Discrimination and Sexual Misconduct Policy and the Protection of Minors Policy.

This year, we are re-evaluating our training program. We will implement a trial in-house training refresher for those who have already completed the Lawroom trainings at least once during their IUP career. Training will be accomplished this year in one of the following ways:

  1. All new hires (employees, student workers, and university related personnel) will continue to receive and complete both EverFi/Lawroom modules (Preventing Sexual Harassment and Sexual Violence and Protection of Minors). These will continue to be sent via an automatic email once new hire paperwork is processed.
  2. New this year: All continuing/returning personnel (employees, student workers, and university-related personnel) will receive a Sexual Discrimination and Sexual Misconduct and a Protection of Minors Training Refresher through D2L. The target date for training implementation is mid- to late October. Please watch for further details on this initiative.
  3. All others not in SAP who require training (i.e., student athletes, student organizations, student interns/field experiences, etc.) will continue to take the Qualtrics-based Training Overview as it appears on the Mandatory Title IX and Protection of Minors Training page.
