The IUP Athletic Department announced an updated tailgating policy for home football games during the 2019 season. The new policy also includes information on VIP parking spots that can be used specifically for tailgating.

The new policy will go into effect for the Crimson Hawks' 2019 home opener against New Haven on Saturday, September 7, at George P. Miller Stadium. IUP has five regular season home games scheduled, including September 21 vs. Lock Haven, October 5 vs. Cal U, October 26 vs. Gannon, and November 9 vs. Edinboro.

Highlights of the New Policy Include:

  • The parking areas in the Stadium South Lot (between Miller Stadium and the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex) are specifically designated for tailgating.
  • Tailgating lots will open three hours prior to the start of each game.
  • Season-long and single game reserved tailgating spots are available for purchase (details below).
  • Possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages is permitted by individuals 21 years and older while in the designated tailgating area.
  • Tents, tables or any other tailgating-related objects may not obstruct drive lanes in the parking lots, sidewalks or pedestrian walkways. These are only allowed in the designated tailgating greenspace.
