Dawn Smith-Sherwood, Department of Foreign Languages (Spanish), presented her essay “Recuperating #WomensPlace in Spanish Literary and Scientific Histories” at the 2019 Kentucky Foreign Language Conference, April 11–13, University of Kentucky–Lexington.

Her work formed part of two thematically-related panels titled “Women and STE(A)M in Spanish Culture.”

Smith-Sherwood and co-editors Victoria Ketz (LaSalle University, Philadelphia) and Debra Faszer-McMahon (Seton Hill University, Greensburg) recently earned an advance contract from Vanderbilt University Press for 2020 publication of their edited collection, A Laboratory of Her Own: Women and Science in Spanish Culture, in which a chapter-length version of Smith-Sherwood's presentation will appear.
